Zarubezhneft has a considerable scientific and technological potential that enables it to provide full-cycle support of oil and gas field operations - from designing advanced computer-based models of oil and gas fields and reserves determination to oilfield development projects preparation and their further implementation on a turnkey basis.

Key components of scientific and technological support for oil and gas projects:

  • establishment of computer database for initial geological and engineering information;
  • computer-based geological and filtration oilfield modeling, including offshore oil fields;
  • Oil and gas reserves determination, justification of final oil recovery ratios;
  • Preparation of integrated technological schemes (projects) for offshore field development and construction;

Zarubezhneft possesses a wide range of patented achievements for oil recovery enhancement and advanced technologies of oilfield development. Apart from traditionally used methods of oil recovery enhancement Zarubezhneft can offer the following new ones:
  • New integrated methods of oil recovery enhancement combining horizontal and vertical oil displacement based on the geological and filtration features of the productive reservoir;
  • Energy-efficient thermal methods of oil recovery enhancement based on steam injection together with water flooding and air injection;
  • Thermal-and-gas method of oil recovery enhancement with the application of air injection at light crude oil fields with high reservoir temperature ensuring in-situ transformation of injected agent into a high efficiency miscible displacement agent;
  • Polymer flooding with the application of biopolymer and "temposcreen";
  • Water flooding of fractured reservoirs using a combination of vertical, directional, horizontal wells and cyclic reservoir pressure maintenance.

As noted above according to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated February 03, 2004 № 137 100% shares of Russian Interbranch Scientific and Technical Complex RMNTK Nefteotdacha was included into the registered capital of Zarubezhneft JSC.
